CPR restorations take home awards at 2017 Grand National Meet

Not a year passes that classic Cadillacs restored by CPR don't have a big presence at the prestigious Cadillac & LaSalle Club's (CLC) Grand National Meet. This year in McLean, VA was no different and, as usual, projects by Cadillac Parts & Restoration (CPR) took home top awards.

The CLC is the world's largest and most authoritative member-based organization for all things Cadillac and their annual meet attracts Cadillac owners (and fans) from around the world. While it serves as a fantastic showcase for our completed projects, it's also a wonderful opportunity to reunite with longtime friends and meet new people.

Judging at the CLC Grand National Meet is notoriously difficult and is performed mostly by classic Cadillac owners who know their stuff and examine not only the entire car for correctness and quality but also check the operation of all functions (air conditioning, wipers, lights, etc.. Judging at very few classic car shows is this involved.

This year's meet saw our 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz restoration project take home the Senior

Wreath award in its class. This beauty is owned by a gentleman who is a repeat and long-time customer of ours and this is the third car we've restored for him.

We're also glad he's getting this car back home so he can enjoy some top-down cruising in this collectible classic. Nothing makes our team of Cadillac restoration experts happier than knowing that a car they labored on intensely will be enjoyed on the road and not spend its life parked in a garage awaiting the next concours event.

Also at the meet was a white 1959 Cadillac Coupe deVille that is a perfect example of just how

strong sentimental value is and why it plays an important role in our industry.

This vehicle, with its iconic tail fins was passed on from father to son and was meticulously cared for throughout its life. When the son assumed ownership of the coupe he carried on that tradition and, when it arrived at CPR's facility, it needed only a partial restoration to get it to "Senior" award winning condition.

These two icons of American automotive history were just two of our restorations to be recognized with awards at the 2017 Grand National. Stay tuned for another dispatch about the big meet.

Restoration Project: 1959 Cadillac Coupe deVille

Among the most iconic classic cars is the 1959 Cadillac. Its towering tail fins marked the height (pardon the pun) of the tail fin era but, over the years, have gained a fanatical following.

Cadillac Parts & Restoration (CPR) has restored many of these highly collectible 1959 Cadillacs and the car pictured below is one of them. This white Coupe deVille has won national awards at the A.A.C.A. Fall Hershey and the prestigious Cadillac & LaSalle Club Grand National meets.

Three First-Place Winners at Cadillac LaSalle Club meet

The "Cadillac Specialists" of Cadillac Parts & Restoration had a spectacular showing at the 2014 Cadillac & LaSalle Club (CLC) meet held in Lake George, NY. The Poughkeepsie-based company had three of its restorations win a first-place at the prestigious annual show

The CLC has a long history in support of the preservation of classic Cadillacs and their show is well-known for its exacting judging standards. This isn't the first strong showing for this team of specialist restorers, but it is among their most memorable. Restoring classic Cadillacs is what they are known for and have been doing since 1984 when they began as FEN Enterprises.

Show season is here

After a long and brutal winter (for most of us anyway), Spring has sprung and with it, show season for classic car owners. Throughout the winter, the Cadillac Parts & Restoration team has been hard at work restoring and repairing some fine examples of classic Cadillacs.

First Place at Cadillac & LaSalle Club Grand National

In what is another in a long line of award-winning Cadillac restorations, a CPR-restored 1959 Cadillac Coupe deVille took home a First Place award at the prestigious 2013 Cadillac & LaSalle Club Grand National meet.

The white Series 62 had previously won its Junior and Senior AACA national awards at Hershey in 2011 and 2012 as well as numerous Concours d'Elegance best-in-class titles along the east coast.

CPR is the Proud Restoration Shop of Another First Place Winner at the Prestigious Cadillac & LaSalle Club Grand National Meet

Our restoration of this iconic 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille won First Place (Primary) in its class this past weekend at the 2013 Cadillac & LaSalle Club Grand National meet in Boston.

The owner of this car inherited it from his father and, in his honor, set about the restoration process. After an extensive search for the right facility, he settled on the team from CPR, formerly FEN Enterprises. Due to the care his dad put in maintaining the vehicle, a frame-off restoration wasn't necessary. However, extensive work was performed on the engine, engine bay, brakes/suspension, interior, paint, trim and more.

The results speak for themselves. Aside from winning this prestigious award, this car has also won its AACA Junior and Senior awards in 2011 and 2012 in Hershey and numerous Concours events along the east coast.

We're getting our customer's 1959 Cadillac Coupe De Ville ready for the 2013 Cadillac & LaSalle Club Grand National event held, this year, in Boston. If you've never attended, this is the premier annual event for the finest restored and original classic Cadillacs in the world.

Those who own, or are just enthusiastic about classic Cadillacs should consider joining the Cadillac & LaSalle Club. They are a tremendous group of people who provide a tremendous resource to the community and there is certain to be a local chapter near you.
