1959 Cadillac Restoration Project Goes Home
Big-finned Cadillacs are a typical scene at Cadillac Parts & Restoration (CPR) and the 1959 model year seems to be ever present. The latest 1959 Cadillac restoration project to leave CPR and be sent home is this ravishing red classic. Not a complete, down-to-the-bolts restoration, but a great example of CPR's mission of working within the desires and budget of a car's owner and ensuring a beautiful driving and looking classic car.
Like all CPR customers the owner of this vehicle is passionate about his classic Cadillac and didn't desire a concours-level vehicle. Rather, the goal was to focus on vital components of the car that needed attention.
Work performed included: completely rebuilt engine including restoration and detailing of bolt-on components; engine compartment restoration from the firewall to the bumper brackets; brakes, suspension, steering and cooling systems all restored; new radial tires and a brand new interior (minus dash and steering wheel).
Just as important to CPR as producing show-winning restored Cadillacs is keeping surviving examples running and looking fantastic. Based upon comments from the car’s happy owner, we hit it out of the park with this 1959 Cadillac restoration project. Here’s what he had to say about the final product:
“Frank, Elsa, and team did absolutely outstanding work. They are artists. The many many items of work they did has brought the car to showroom new. Engine is stronger then before and purrs like a sewing machine. Interior: my God. It puts every single new car of the past 30 years to absolute shame.”
